While 1 in 10 adults is living with HIV in Malawi, AIDS deaths are down by 65% since GAIA began its work in 2003. GAIA has contributed to the progress by filling gaps in HIV services in rural hotspots where HIV prevalence is highest. Working in coordination with the Ministry of Health and local communities, we aim to achieve UNAIDS 90-90-90 treatment targets by 2020 that will set us on course to end the epidemic by 2030.
Small actions locally can have huge impact in ending AIDS in rural HIV hotspots in Southern Africa. You’re invited to help in the following ways:
Raise funds for GAIA’s work – host a happy hour, bake sale, DIY craft party, donate your birthday, or any other fun, creative way to bring friends and family together to support.
Hold a film screening and discussion at your home, place of worship or school to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and the historic opportunity to end the epidemic in our lifetime – GAIA will provide a toolkit and MP4 files.
Join one of our committees (special events, social media, etc.)
