Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA) is committed to protecting the privacy of its donors, contacts, and Web visitors. Information provided in any form, whether by mail, telephone, through Web visits, or derived from internal Web tracking or in any other manner is carefully protected and is not sold, rented, or shared with any individual or organization.
Your security, privacy, and personal preferences are very important to us. We welcome your feedback on these matters.
Whether you contact us through the Web, by mail, telephone, email or other means, GAIA collects personal information upon a request to subscribe to newsletters, announcements (press releases) and multimedia stories, through registration and/or attendance at GAIA events, in communications with GAIA staff and volunteers, or as a part of applying for a job. Information is also collected when a donation is made, whether by mail, telephone, or via the Website, or other means. This information is not sold, rented or shared with any individual or organization.
You are not required to provide any personal information on our Web site unless you choose to do so. We do ask for personal information on our online donation pages to properly enable donation transaction processing. We use this information to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes. If you make a donation to GAIA, your name and address will be placed on our mailing list for occasional mail updates. If you do not wish to receive physical mail from GAIA, or to have the frequency or type of mailings changed, you may call us or e-mail us at any time at email@example.com, or call 1-415-461-7196 to be removed.
Our Web site does not automatically recognize your e-mail address. We ask for your e-mail address on a number of pages within our site, but you may opt out of e-mail newsletters at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 1-415-461-7196.
Credit Card Security
For one-time donations through Network for Good, your credit card number is used only for that particular transaction and is not stored. For recurring donations, the credit card number is encrypted for your protection and is not available to anyone, even developers of the system.
Your credit card information is secured by a reputable security company (Verisign). Network for Good encrypts sensitive information and uses industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible. You will see the “closed” lock symbol on your Web browser when you are on our secure donation pages. You will also notice in your Web site address bar that the domain name starts with an “https” on those donation pages. This means that information entered on those pages is encrypted for your security. If you have any questions regarding the security of your credit card donation online, please e-mail email@example.com, or call 1-415-461-7196.
Credit card information relayed by post or by telephone, or any other non-electronic means is stored in a locked environment for no longer than 18-months. Access to the locked environment is limited to authorized personnel and a list is kept of all key holders. Disposal of cardholder information after the 18-month period is by cross-cut shredding.
