Memorial Set for GAIA’s co-founder Dr. Charlie Wilson
The GAIA family was deeply saddened by the death of our co-founder Dr. Charles Wilson, February 24, at the age of 88. Charlie, as he was affectionately known by us all, led an extraordinarily rich and productive life (see a beautiful tribute in last Friday’s NY Times: Obituary for Charlie Wilson), and we are forever indebted to him (and Dr. Bill Rankin) for founding GAIA in 2000. Charlie was GAIA’s first Board Chair, serving from 2000-2007, providing vibrant and visionary leadership in those crucial first years and continued his support and advice as Chair-emeritus.
A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 3 Bayview Avenue, Belvedere, CA on Sunday, March 11th @ 2pm, with Bill Rankin presiding.
In lieu of flowers, Charlie’s family has generously requested that donations may be sent to GAIA, 2171 Francisco Blvd. East, Suite I, San Rafael, CA 94901, www.thegaia.org, or Tulane University School of Medicine, 1430 Tulane Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70112.
I hope to see you at at the memorial service.
In gratitude for the life of Charlie Wilson,
Todd
GAIA CEO and President
