COVID-19 has hit Malawi and the projections are dire: 16 million people could become infected and 50,000 could die from the virus this year.
GAIA Malawi is working intensively with government partners to put preventive measures in place to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
GAIA’s efforts will:
- Protect Mobile Health Clinic operations, adding additional staff, protocols, and vital Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
- Educate rural communities on hygiene, social distancing and other pandemic prevention messaging;
- Deliver essential COVID-19 prevention supplies, including masks, buckets for water and soap for households in the highest risk areas.
Please join GAIA’s urgent campaign to raise $500,000 in the next 30 days. Action is critical NOW to prevent the pandemic from devastating the “warm heart of Africa.”
